Hands On Treatment

We are a purely hands on treatment therapist. For the entire duration of your appointment you will experience hands on techniques to correct any poor movement patterns or joint and soft tissue issues related to your symptoms.

  • Joint mobilisation – gentle and repeated mid to end range stretching of specific spinal and limb joints, aiming to restore normal joint mobility
  • Stretching – stretching techniques are often performed by a therapist to improve the overall range of movement, particularly when the client is unable to perform these movements alone.
  • Neural mobilisation/stretching – a structured approach to treating dysfunction arising directly from a nerve. It utilises techniques to safely move dysfunctional nerves in the limbs and improve their mobility.

Therapeutic Massage

Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are hypersensitive areas in muscles which manifest as small contraction knots. These acute sources of pain can affect muscle length and referred pain if left untreated. Treatment involves a deep sustained pressure on the trigger points and stretching.

Deep Tissue Massage
Focuses on the deeper layers of muscle fibres, and is administrated using specific compression and friction along the muscle to loosen up muscle tension, releasing toxins and encouraging blood and oxygen to circulate.

Remedial Massage
Consisting of specialised techniques to locate and repair damage as well as supporting the body’s own repairing mechanisms. These treatments are tailored specifically to each client and can be gentle or strong, deep or shallow to achieve the desired result. Remedial massage can be used to treat a variety of conditions

Dry Needling

Dry needling can be used for a range of musculoskeletal conditions by inserting acupuncture needles into the muscles to stimulate blood flow to the area, either superficially to relieve trigger points, or by inserting the needles deeper to inhibit pain responses.

When used alongside manual, hands on treatment, dry needling can produce excellent results such as a reduction in muscle tightness, improvement in muscle activation and can also provide pain relief.
